* 16 UVM staff members had received layoff notices
* 12 full-time lecturers were facing layoff
* 79 part-time lecturers, some teaching eight courses a year, were facing layoff
* Up to two dozen staff members had their hours (and pay/benefits) reduced from full-time to part-time
