United Staff challenges the election
Posted on | October 4, 2012 |
United Staff has officially filed to challenge the election that was held on September 18 and 19. We filed the challenge based on principle and precedent. This challenge represents an effort to advocate for those whose voices were not accurately reflected in the election two weeks ago. It is also an effort to correct a flawed design of a ballot that we just might see again in the next year. Therefore the outcome of this challenge may make future labor elections in Vermont a little better.
This action reflects what United Staff has said we would do all along and why we have worked so hard to this day. United Staff is here to advocate for the “not-yet represented staff” at UVM on a fruitful path to change that label to “represented staff.” We will continue to act with integrity and follow our hearts and our guts to do what is right, not necessarily what is easy.
