Burlington Free Press article: “The search for the next president of the University of Vermont is expected to cost about $300,000 and to conclude no later than March 2012 with the selection by UVM trustees of a successor to Dan Fogel.”

United Staff 2011 Survey
The purpose of this survey is to help determine whether the non-represented staff at UVM are interested in forming a union now.
(PLEASE NOTE: This survey can be printed. You can complete it and mail it in to: United Staff PO Box 1745 Burlington, VT 05402.)
Based on the input United Staff has received from ongoing organizing efforts, along with the results received from this survey, together these will inform the next steps of the US campaign.

Another mind changed in favor of unions

New York Times commentator Stanley Fish’s recent editorial is a confession of sorts. Fish had been against unionization in higher education for decades… until Wisconsin. He’s now completely convinced that unions are necessary. People around the country are changing their minds right now about unionization. Read his very well argued piece here:
